Ministry of Interior and United Development Company sign MoU to promote traffic safety across The Pearl-Qatar.

Doha-Qatar, 12 June 2019:

Introductory:

The UDC has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Department to promote road safety across the Pearl — Qatar.

Brig. Mohamed bin Saad Al Kharji, Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, and UDC President and CEO and Member of the Board, Mr Ibrahim Jassim Al-Othman, co-signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) during a ceremony that brought together senior officials from both sides at the Oyster Building and Traffic Department Center in The Pearl-Qatar.

How the traffic department will work?

The Traffic Department will assign units to conduct round the clock patrols across The Pearl — Qatar, and offering their services to the residents and the visitors through the committed control systems.

And the centre has assigned some tasks by the Traffic department to monitor the traffic violations, investigate the accidents and process vehicle registration, besides, to make sure the traffic is safe and the road across the Island has safety terminals.

UDC support and cooperation

As per MoU, Brig. Mohamed bin Saad Al Kharji, Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, said “Qatar attaches great importance to traffic safety, where the state-level efforts have resulted in a reduction in the road fatalities and serious injuries, as a part of the second phase implementation of the Road Safety Strategy 2018–2022.

The UDC President and CEO and Member of The Board, Mr Ibrahim Jassim Al-Othman said: “Ibrahim Jassim Al-Othman stated: “UDC is proud to associate with the Ministry of Interior to similarly enhance the public offerings for the Island’s citizens, tenants, and traffic services. The agreement falls within the efforts of all concerned entities to further enhance services for citizens”.

In this regard, single-window offerings’ Khadamati’ have been introduced in 2017 to facilitate the processing of transactions for investors and residents of the Island. Including the facilitation of passport and immigration, visitor’s department office work, organization registration and licensing, health facility and medical fee services, civil protection services and customs clearance among many different offers.
